VIR in June
July 5th, 2010

Another great racing weekend…Skott and Dennis got aggressive for sure. Skott, in his Porsche 911 was having an out of character experience. Usually rock solid and consistent, Skott rammed a competitor out of the way in the one hour enduro. This move earned him a reprimand from competition director Carl Jensen but got a huge cheer from the crowd who thought they were seeing a new Nascar star! Then in the small bore handicap race Skott was lapping consistently at his best pace. He was in a podium position with 2 laps to go and spun, losing about 35 seconds which dropped him to 6th place.

Dennis D’Angelo in his Porsche 911 broke his shift lever twice and also the bracket that supports the steering wheel once earning him the name “Monza Gorilla” for the weekend.

Jim O’Connor, our newest driver, continuously improved his pace throughout the weekend and finished 13/19 in his second race ever!

New Hampshire Vintage Festival
May 27th, 2010

We had another great weekend in Concord, New Hampshire, May 20-23. This was a challenging event, with more than 100 entries and vintage motorcycles as well. We had beautiful weather and a pretty much drama free few days.

Dennis D’Angelo continues on his winning streak, running  in the big bore group. He raced against several other Porsche 911′s as well as Corvettes and Camaros. He was chasing those Corvettes and Camaros for most of the weekend, but after a little driving adjustment, he finished second to a Corvette. Way to go Dennis!

In the “all-comers” race, all groups ran, including formula cars, and Dennis came in first in a field of 25-30 cars. Nice way to make a comeback, huh?

In the small bore group, Skott Burkland finished an impressive 7th in a 30 car field which included 2 Jaguars, a Nissan and an Alfa Romeo. You can see new pictures of Skott and his car in our pictures tab and on Facebook.

And in the vintage motorcycle group, Drew Kessler rode a Honda MT 125, owned by Joe Griffin. This was the first run after a full restoration. You can see Drew and the Honda in our pictures tab and on Facebook.

Our next event is at VIR  on June 4-6.
